Best time that follows your hours
Set your activity hours once. WalkiNova picks a 30 min to 2 h window inside them, evenings included, and skips 23:30–04:00 unless your hours cover it.

New: WalkiNova 2.0, now on Wear OS
WalkiNova scores every hour of your local forecast for comfort, picks the best window inside your own hours, then tracks your walk, run, hike or ride with GPS.

Made for
What's new in v2.0.0
Version 2.0.0 is the biggest WalkiNova update yet. Here is what changes when you open it.
Set your activity hours once. WalkiNova picks a 30 min to 2 h window inside them, evenings included, and skips 23:30–04:00 unless your hours cover it.

A strip on Home rates each hour and marks your best window, your hours and the quiet hours.

Your session starts the moment you tap. GPS connects in the background, so you don't stand around waiting.
When the signal drops, the gap is left out of your distance and time, and sudden jumps are filtered. A tunnel won't wreck your stats.
Rides now show average speed and top speed, with splits for every kilometre.
Start as a guest. Sign in with Google later and your sessions upload automatically, each marked Synced or Waiting to upload.
Also new: a 7th route image style (Glow), a clearer offline mode, faster history, and rewritten text in all 6 languages with a cleaner Arabic layout.

New: Wear OS
WalkiNova now has a Wear OS companion. Check your best time, start with one tap and leave your phone in your pocket. Every session ends up in your history on the phone.

Try it
Pick the hours you're free and a type of day. The demo scores each hour with the same rules as the app and finds your best window.
Your best time
19:00 – 20:00
67/100 · Good
Best of the whole day: 05:00 – 07:00 (86/100)
Sample forecast for illustration. The demo works in whole hours; the app uses your live local forecast (Open-Meteo) and checks every 15 minutes.

How it works
Add the hours you're usually free in your profile, mornings or evenings. Without them, WalkiNova still suggests a good time.

Home shows today's best window, its comfort score and a tip or two, like bringing a light after dark.

Pick an activity and start. WalkiNova records your route, time and distance. Save it when you're done.
Route images
After each session, WalkiNova turns your route into an image. Swipe through the styles, then save it or share it.

Privacy and honesty
Use the full tracker in guest mode. Your sessions stay on your phone.
Sign in with Google and the sessions you recorded as a guest upload automatically.
Offline, sessions save on your phone and upload later. Home keeps the last forecast and shows when it was updated.
Steps, pushes and calories are estimated from GPS and labelled (est.). Calories assume a 70 kg body weight.
Route images leave out the first and last 200 m of your route by default.
English, French, German, Italian, Romanian and Arabic (right to left). °C or °F, 12 or 24 hours.
FAQ
Yes. WalkiNova is free to download on Google Play, and you can use it without creating an account.
It gives every hour of your local forecast a weather comfort score out of 100, from feels-like temperature, chance of rain, wind and sky. Then it picks a 30-minute to 2-hour window inside your activity hours. Quiet hours (23:30–04:00) are skipped unless your hours include them, and if starting now is nearly as good, it tells you there's no need to wait.
Walking, running, sprint, hiking, cycling and wheelchair. Each shows the stats that fit it: pace for walking and running, speed and top speed for cycling, elevation gain for hiking, and estimated pushes for wheelchair users.
Yes, on Wear OS. The watch app runs on Wear OS 3 or later and works with the WalkiNova app on an Android phone. You can see your best time, start, pause and finish a session, and follow time, distance and pace from your wrist. Sessions are saved on your phone. Apple Watch isn't supported.
No. Guest mode gives you the full tracker, and your sessions stay on your phone. Sign in with Google if you want a backup and the Stats tab; the sessions you recorded as a guest upload automatically.
WalkiNova uses your phone's GPS. In version 2.0.0, when the signal drops the gap isn't counted in your distance or time, and sudden jumps are filtered out. Accuracy still depends on your phone and your surroundings.
Partly. Sessions you record offline are saved on your phone and upload when you're back online, and Home keeps the last forecast with the time it was updated. You need a connection to get a fresh forecast.
Live GPS tracking uses more battery than everyday phone use, as with any GPS tracker. WalkiNova records your route only during a session you start, and you can pause or end it at any time.
Guest sessions stay on your phone. If you sign in with Google, your sessions are stored on your account so they're backed up. Route images hide the start and finish of your route by default. The privacy policy has the details.
Not yet. WalkiNova is available for Android phones on Google Play.
English, French, German, Italian, Romanian and Arabic, with a full right-to-left layout. You can choose °C or °F and 12-hour or 24-hour time. Distances are in kilometres.
